This is reflected in the excellence and uncompromising standards of our guides, equipment, safety, and sensitivity to the environment. It is this dedication that makes Rapid Descents unique.
Friendly Guides
Our guides are committed to your safety and enjoyment. Being experienced and professional, they are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Trust and confidence in your guide is essential, they will keep you informed and ensure that you get the most from your rafting experience. Rapid Descents River Guides are hand picked for their experience, training and personality.
Rafts and Equipment
Our equipment is 'state of the art' and is recognised throughout the rafting industry for its quality and high performance.
Our Rafts: We have different size rafts and match boat size to the river level on the day, this maximises your enjoyment on any of our trips. For high water and more difficult river conditions we use our 14ft self-bailing rafts which means you can spend more time focussing on the rapids and not bailing out water. This self-bailing feature ensures a fun and safe trip. On easier rivers and as water levels drop, we maintain levels of excitement and manoeuvrability by decreasing our boat size.
Our Rafting Equipment: We provide you with a high quality wetsuit, thermal top, spray jacket, PFD (personal flotation device), and helmet.
Delicious, hearty food
The meals are fantastic! Our guides transform into chefs at meal times and delight in creating a special feast you won't forget. The food is fresh and prepared in front of you. We cater for special dietary needs, you can let us know of your own requirements when you book.
An Adventure for Anyone
Just about anyone can join us whitewater rafting. A reasonable level of fitness is required, and basic swimming skills is recommended. We do have a minimum age requirement which is either 13 years OR 40kgs. Rivers under grade 3 (easy) we lower the age restriction.
You can join us on your own or bring a group. Rafting is popular with friends and families, social clubs, work groups, gyms, and bucks weekends to name a few.
